| Thanksgiving break was CRAZY!!!!!! Seriously.... an once in a lifetime opportunity!
my roommate jon and i went to CANCUN! okay, not actually cancun, but we were at a resort a few minutes away. This trip was such a blessing!
Kevin, who is jon's mentor, provided the way for me, jon, and a few of the other guys that came, too. Kevin is an awesome guy, and i'm so thankful for the trip. during the trip, when he was asked what was the best part of the trip... he said that it was the opportunity to bless us and share in the beauty of the Caribbean!!!! AWESOMENESS!
Three other high schoolers came along.... who Kevin also invited. they're names are Isaiah, Andrew, and Josh. it was really cool because jon and i were able to be real with them. we were able to share our testimonies, and share some about some of the things we've learned and experienced in this crazy life. it's cool because they mentioned to kevin that they really appreciated the both of us. and that hearing us talk about God and being so passionate.... made them want to seek God more and check the way that they we're living their lives. praise God.
On the trip.... here is a quick list of some of the things we did:
-we got scuba certified
-went scuba diving in the beautiful carribean sea.... which was 76 degrees and the clearest/bluest water i've ever seen
-went shopping in carmen de playa where they have all these small shops.... and you bargain with them to get the best deal
-rented atv's and drove them to the jungle
-went zip-lining through the jungles ( zip lines are connected from tree to tree... we get hooked on and go flying!)
-snorkeling in underwater caves called cenotes
-went to ancient mayan excavations
-roamed the streets of cancun.... did a lil more shopping and ate at a brazilian bbq restaurant
to top it all off... the resort we were staying at was all inclusive! what this means.... is that everyone gets a bracelet on the wrist... and you can eat all you want at any of the 13 restuarants that they had for free!!!! and you can order all the drinks you want.... pina coladas, strawberry daquaris, bahama mama's, etc..... all non-alcholic of course! ;)
Such a blessing! a well needed break! God is amazing over and over again!!!!!
